The is one great All-in-one, much better than my last one. Smooth document top feed for faxing or copying. The photo prints are just as good as the store printed ones. The unit is a little noisy when setting up to print. You can send pics straight from your phone to the printer via the bluetooth and with wireless it prints even faster then USB. It has seperate CD/DVD slot for prining labels onto the printible CD/DVD. Scanning is a snap just follow the directions and you can edit,save or send it in email. Setup was a snap I just followed the setup directions and was up and running in about 10 minutes. Overall a great machine.HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Inkjet Printer (CC335A#ABA)

HP Photosmart Premium C309a All-in-One - Multifunction Printer
My trusty HP Photosmart 2610 recently gave up the ghost (actually broke a spring in the cartridge compartment that rendered the whole printer useless) after five faithful years. I used that thing pretty heavily, and it owed me nothing. So, naturally, I ran right out, looked at nothing but HP all-in-ones (meaning 4-in-1s, by the way; "all-in-ones" that don't fax are NOT all-in-ones), found a great deal on the Photosmart Premium C309a, and brought it home, excited not only for a brand new piece of HP equipment, but eager to see how they've improved the technology in the last five years.
Answer: a big fat goose egg. The C309a is a decent, versatile product overall, but any positive steps HP has taken have been counteracted by lack of quality and extreme lack of support. I've used all four features over the few weeks since I've purchased it. The only improvement that is useful to me is the automatic feed tray on top. Bring able to print on printable CDs or CD labels is a nice-to-have, but not a big deal and not worth the retail price (thankfully I got it at Costco).
The quality of the cabinet is okay so far, but mostly plastic, and no better than my old 2610. The only functional "improvements" I've seen are literal bells and whistles that tell you when a page is printed (a bright, flourishy sound, as if the machine is saying "Tada! Look what I did!") and two beeps that literally sound like "Uh oh" when something goes wrong, which has been several times. I've noticed a very marginal increase in speed over my five-year-old former printer (the speeds advertised are on fastest draft settings and don't include the time the machine seems to take to whirr and swish and finally START printing). All the noises it makes after printing are pretty annoying, too. I feel like I've got flippin' R2-D2 on my desk, only not as cute.
I've had the copy function hang on me several times, then hang again when I press cancel, and again when I try to turn the power off and back on. I've ended up having to unplug it and plug it back in.
Technical support? Don't get me started. I'll never call them again. Apparently, Carly Fiorina, before she bolted for the campaign trail where she promises to create and protect American jobs, outsourced the entire tech support department to India. I wasted the better part of an hour with a guy who couldn't even understand the problems I was having setting the thing up. It turned out the problem was with my phone line, but did he help me figure that out? Nooooooo!
An aside: The "Basics Guide" that is included in the box is largely useless except to an advanced user. It's heavy on technical jargon and light on...well...BASICS! You have to download the FULL user guide from [...] to get any simple answers. Seems bass-ackwards to me!
Another non-improvement: the ink cost per page for my new printer is higher than for my old printer; the photo quality is good, but again no better than my old one. I'll spend my time printing photos via Costco for 13 cents per 4 x 6 rather than waste precious ink printing more expensive photos at home.
The bottom line: I don't know what the R&D folks at HP have been doing for the past five years, but they'd better step it up big time in the next five (assuming my new all-in-one even lasts that long) or I'm bolting straight to Epson.

This is the fourth networked HP multi-function printer I've owned. Each one lasted until I bought a computer with a newer version of Windows. Though HP updates its drivers for new versions of Windows, it has consistently failed to keep the network operation working properly. So, when I got 64 bit Windows 7, I had to get yet another new printer. This one.
As usual, it comes with a disk containing a HUGE driver that takes up to 1/2 hour to install on each computer. Adding each additional computer is a nightmare. Though the printer is happily connected to the router, setup will announce that a compatible printer was not found. There is no apparent reason for this, as I have no firewalls. By screwing around, I can get computers working, but they don't stay working.
For example, after happily scanning for a couple of days, suddenly the scan button stopped working. Printing would work, but not scanning. Looking this up, HP claims the printer driver isn't fully installed. Time to fully install the driver again. But then, my wife came and said she could no longer print from her computer. After lots of turning the printer off and on, her pages from the last several days started printing.
Windows or Mac, XP or Vista, wired or wireless. Doesn't matter. All unreliable and frustrating.
This printer is noisy and always makes you wait. It frequently decides to clean its heads - which involves many minutes of distracting clicks just when you need it the least. Having a meeting? Time for the printer to noisily clean its heads. Want to print a quick memo? Time to wait.
Even printing a network diagnostic page takes MANY minutes, as the printer suddenly goes into super slow printing mode and plots the network settings information pixel by pixel, as I wait in horror.
I imagine this printer may work well for someone who is very patient, doesn't care about noise or delays, and uses a simple USB connection rather than the fancy networking features.
I've completely had with HP. I'm taking this back to Costco, and will never buy another HP multi-function printer. I am totally through with these turkeys.

Run away as quick as you can from any HP all-in-one home printer.
My first one lasted 10 months and then any scans or copies would only come out as huge bar code looking things. I called tech support and after 3 techs and 2 hours on the phone, was told they would send me a replacemnet printer, which they did.
Now the replacement printer (which was refurbished, not new), is 14 months old, and I'm getting an "Ink System Failure". When I called tech support, they want to charge me $65 to help me because my printer is out of warranty.
Stay far, far away from ANY HP home product! They are only built to last long enough to get you to the next version of the printer.
